而不是,英语易混词汇举隅写作策略

有些英语词汇的字面意思与实际意思并不相同，经常会产生错误的理解，会闹出笑话来。以列举的形式向英语爱好者对这类词汇做一简单。

1.sweetbread是“胰脏”，而“甜面包”。

例：Sweetbread is an important organ in our body. 胰脏是身体器官。

2.writing brush是“毛笔”，而“刷子”。

例：Nowadays, there are few people using writing brush.现在很少有人用毛笔了。

3.all potato是“小人物”，而“小土豆”。

例：Small potato also can do unusually things.小人物也有大。

4.big potato是“大人物”，而“大土豆”。

例：Meeting a big potato like Cheng Long is my dream.见成龙这样的大人物是我的梦想。

5.couch potato是“电视迷”，而“沙发土豆”。

例：As our relatives know, my cousin is a couch potato, and she is always lost in it. 我的亲戚所知，我的表妹是电视迷，她经常对它入迷。
