基于语料库英语写作中连接手段使用浅析

英语中的连接词作为语篇衔接的一种手段,对篇章的衔接、连贯起着重要的作用。本文以语料库为基础,采用定量与定性分析相结合的研究方法,从中国学习者英语语料库(CLEC)和英语本族语语料库(BNC)中选取部分语料进行对比,通过利用AntConc等统计分析软件,探讨了中国大学生英语写作中的连接手段使用情况,包括总频率、语义关系、使用频率最高的十个词,以及多用和少用的词。目的是使学习者了解本族语者使用连接词的状况及规律,为英语教学和学习提供鉴戒。首先,本文以Quirk和Biber等人对连接词的分类为基础,将所要研究的连接词分为七个种别。然后,界定本文所选用的两组子语料库:大学1-2年级非英语专业学习者CET4作文(ST3)、大学3-4年级非英语专业学习者CET6作文(ST4),以及英国国家语料库(BNC)中的部分语料,并用专业检索工具AntConc和在线查询功能对确定的连接词在两个子语料库中进行逐一检索。借助每个连接词的语境信息,删掉不在本文研究范围的同一词形的非连接词并且区分同一连接词的多语义性。在Excel软件的辅助下正确统计每个连接词的频率。最后,处理数据和分析讨论。将所得的原始数据进行标准化处理,对比两组子语料库中连接词的使用情况。对于观察到的差异以及超用词和少用词,利用TedDunning的对数似然性检验(Log-likelihoodtest)。研究结果表明,与本族语者相比,中国英语学习者倾向于更多地使用连接词;在两组语料库中,连接词的语义分布基一致;通过对比两组语料库中使用频率最高的十个连接词,此研究发现中国英语学习者与本族语者表现出类似的倾向性,但也存在着一些差异;利用对数似然性检,本文发现中国英语学习者趋向于过多使用表示列举和结果的连接词,过少使用表示对比和让步的连接词。在英语连接词的使用上可能与汉语思维模式的影响、教师的指导、缺乏语体意识等因素有关。【关键词】：语料库英语写作连接中国英语学习者
